I have created this site because setting up aquariums is a very important hobby of mine. I have always been attracted to fish ever since I was very young. When I was in elementary school, I would always bring home a pet goldfish (comet goldfish) from the school carnival and learn how to take care of it. I think the longest one lasted about five years. Not bad considering it was in a 3 gallon tank without a filter. Eventually, I grew older and was attracted to the more exotic fish. When I went to the pet shop I always spent much time walking up and down the fish aisles.

I first started getting serious about the whole fish thing in the early 2000's. I started reading many books and doing research at the library and local Aquarium. I new that it could be an expensive hobby so I started off cycling a twenty gallon cold water tank.

I set up the tank with 2 fancy goldfish and a hang on the back filter. I soon learned that gold fish were easy to take care of as long as I kept up with the maintenance. Unfortunately, I learned that goldfish were very slimy  and dirty fish so I only feed them once a day instead of 3 times.

I began to become a regular customer at my local fish store and began to take an interest in more exotic fish. I understood that I was still a novice even though I had been reading up on the subject so I took the next step. I decided to trade in my fancy goldfish and get a heater to convert the twenty gallon to a community fish  aquarium. That's when I truly got hooked on fish!
